THE LAST HOUSEGUEST

Megan Miranda

Megan Maranda was a new author for me. I have more of her books on hold now for future reading!

Littleport, Maine, is a great vacation spot for the rich-and-up-n-comers. The local folks try to make their business from the vacation months tending to the needs of the summer visitors.

Grant Loman, and his close-knit (but maladjusted) family, owns and runs with a welcoming-but-tight-fist the community.

Avery Greer, a young local, is hired by the Loman’s to oversee their investments during the vacation months, as well as tend to the rental upkeeps on the down months.

Avery becomes a family fixture- She is adopted in sisterly friendship by the Loman’s daughter, Sadie.

During an End-of-Summer party, Sadie Loman is found dead at the bottom of an overlook.

As the detectives investigate, more and more secrets that should have remained hidden are discovered about the local’s connections to the Lorman’s, as well as secrets the Lorman’s might just kill to protect.

This is a story written with many flashbacks.

Enjoyed!

THE ‘LION’ IN ALL OF US

I don’t think that you can listen to the the theme song that accompanies the movie Born Free without a little of your own lion wanting to seep out.

SHARE YOUR WORLD 10-7-19

  • Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) a good thing, a bad thing or a mixture of both?
  • Are you camera shy or do you pose for the camera with confidence?
  • Is there anything you’ve kept from younger years for sentimental reasons alone?
  • Do you like to decorate for different holidays?

Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) a good thing, a bad thing or a mixture of both?

I have an opinion, but it is based on far-too-little-knowledge about these creatures. So I will go with the old saying, “Opinions are like bellybuttons. Everyone has one, and it is best for the world if they remain covered.”

Are you camera shy or do you pose for the camera with confidence?

I love to take pictures. I hate being in the picture.

Is there anything you’ve kept from younger years for sentimental reasons alone?

A teddy bear and other teddy-creatures.

Do you like to decorate for different holidays?

When I was teaching, we tried to find a holiday to decorate and celebrate every two weeks.

SPOOKS AT NIGHT

I enjoy movies.

I never realized to the extent that I enjoyed movies until recently.

Watching the big screen brings to life a spectacle that my television can not.

One big screen extravaganza I have yet to understand are zombie movie or apocalyptic movies.

Three lone survivors seeking a new colony in an unforgiving world lacks theatrical appeal to me.

I have never watched a single episode of The Walking Dead (even though, apparently 95% of the people that have watched an episode of it are now, not only fans, but addicts?
