TOO MUCH TO WATCH AT ONE TIME

I am such a quandary!!!

Tomorrow I have too many important basketball games to watch.

My home team plays at 2 pm. It is a special occasion so I sorta need to be there early to park at a good location.

At noon…

The Tennessee Volunteers play Auburn. I need to be in front of the TV screen to root against Tennessee! (This could be for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.)

The Syracuse Orange play the Clemson Tigers. If the Tigers win, they will likely get a game in the NCAA tournament.

At 2:00 pm…

The Kentucky Wildcats play Florida. I need to be in front of the TV screen to root against Kentucky! (This could be for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.)

At 4:00 pm …

The James Madison men’s team play Towson in a tournament game. I would love to see JMU advance in their divisional tournament.

The University of Virginia plays Louisville. I’m rooting for UVA! (This could be for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.)

At 6:00 pm …

The Duke University plays The University of North Carolina. I’m rooting for DUKE!  (This could be for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.)

I think my mind may explode!!!

PERCOLATING EXCITEMENT: ZION, PLEASE COME BACK

PERCOLATING EXCITEMENT: ZION, PLEASE COME BACK

Without the #1 player in the nation, Zion Williams, the Duke Blue Devils are a superb basketball team vying for a national championship.

With Zion Williams, the Duke Blue Devils are virtually unbeatable.

Without Zion, the team is usually victorious but two or three points, often having to stage a major fourth quarter comeback.

With Zion, Duke wins games in the first quarter.

Twenty point leads.

Insurmountable deficits.

Without Zion Williams, the percolating excitement of the game is in the closing minutes.

Can Duke pull off another impossible victory?

With Zion Williams, the percolating excitement is in the watching a group of unselfish young eighteen-year-old basketball players, love the game of basketball.

Zion… Please come back!

THE VICTIMS OF HAVEN, MAINE

THE VICTIMS OF HAVEN, MAINE

HAVEN (originally on SyFy- now on NETFLIX) is a supernatural drama based on the Stephen King novel, The Colorado Kid.

Haven, a small town in Maine, is a cursed town. Many of its residents are troubled.

In the town of Haven, troubled means that they can do supernatural things. These troubled are usually seen as cursed by the normal folk of Haven.

The troubled have afflictions ranging from the ability to be loved by machines, to their personal hatreds being expressed a neighboring forested area, to being wendigoes, to being a bullet magnet.

The town’s police force tries to ease the troubled’s afflictions while at the same time protecting the normal residents from the disasters inherently caused by the afflictions.

As you watch the show, you are never sure if the victims are the regular towns folk or the afflicted?

Usually, I don’t enjoy random SyFy shows, but –possibly because if the Stephen King mindset- this one is a great show.

What three habits do you feel would improve someone’s life?

  • A prompt bedtime
  • A healthy diet
  • Enjoyable exercise

What takes up too much of your time?   Would you stop that if you could?

Housework! Yes..Yes…Yes…Yes!!!

Cookies (biscuits to those elsewhere), pastries, pie or cake?   If not, what does your sweet tooth crave?

Strawberry rhubarb pie. I have been thinking of getting one for weeks!

THE DAY OF RECKONING

2019 bracket

THE DAY OF RECKONING

Soon, as in next Sunday, will be the first day of reckoning for the NCAA basketball teams.

Selection Sunday.

For those of you who are not basketball aficionados, Selection Sunday is when the top 64+ basketball teams are placed into brackets, assigned game destinations, and begin playing for the right to be called the NCAA CHAMPION of 2019.

So far, the DUKE UNIVERSITY BLUE DEVILS are a #1 seed. So is THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA CAVALIERS.

DUKE is, by far, my favorite team. UVA is my #2.

All my home life will be adjusted to enable me to see their games as they seek the NCAA BASKETBALL CROWN.

FYI: That is not as sad as it once was. When I first started teaching, I had to go to sleep before some of the games were played. That morning, at school, I would write the teams/games on the blackboard of the games I was not able to see, and we (the students and I would agree NOT TO TALK ABOUT any of those games. I was not a compete ogre… I would let the students who were interested in basketball assign names of their teams on the board, if they wanted the team out-of-lunch/water-cooler discussions. I might be a little basketball warped, but I am fair!)
