Congressman Galloway was pleased with the bill. It had garnered near unanimous approval. Within the next three years, we would become a ‘green’ nation. Trash repositories would become green-initiatives. We were well on the way to becoming a “leave-no-footprint” world. The Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, Sojourners and the Trail Blazers were all eager participants.
GREENow (Green-Ready Energy-Efficient Now) was the buzz phrase. People were being paid to make earth-friendly decisions. Those that were not on board were being inculcated with passive participation. Hostile families were being instructionally-trimmed and brought on board.
Small ‘green’ effigies- those who refused-were being used to foster the cause. The topiary was eye-catching. Because of GREENow, everyone served the greater good. The Anti-GREENow protests, though few now, facilitated beautifully sculptured parks and attractive additions to the boulevards near city transit facilities.
It was a win-win for everyone. The world was now safe. Mankind was GREENow.

That’s okay, we understand. Barb is pretty easy, I doubt that she cared. I really liked your story and I can see how it would grab a hold of you to make you write it.:)

That’s one way to deal with dissenters! At least the planet has finally gone green, though.
That was my first line you forgot 😦
