For a while, I was trying just to sit down and practice my music lessons for 10 minutes a day, knowing that once I had sat down, I would stay longer.
Now, the pieces have gotten far more difficult. I need to develop more skilled fingering techniques and practice improving my dynamics (piano-forte) as much as I need to just be able to plunk at the correct keys.
THE NEW SOLUTION
When I sit down to practice now, my aim is to play each selection five times.
I begin with the plunking of the correct keys …
Then I work at the perfection of the rhythms …
Next I work on the individual lines with the proper musical dynamics.
When I think I have it, be that the third time (or the fourth or fifth), I play it one last time for perfection.
When I wander past the piano the next time for that day, I do the next song.
This has been a very enjoyable way to precede… at the moment.
