Many, many….many years ago, during my junior high and high school days, my Jazz Ensemble in school (of which I was a member for five years) would take three tours a year to major (local- within 100 miles) cities to be the entertainment for dinners for major businesses/symposiums.
Life Is a Cabaret was our opening song for most of the entertainment venues.
Our tour schedules were almost always the same.
Friday night was a charity event for which we performed for free. (Often this group would provide a meal).
Saturday was a tour of some facility (a zoo, a museum, an industrial complex or government facility) on an ‘educational’ topic. That night was the cabaret for the business.
Sunday was a Church performance or two. (Often the Church would host a meal.) The afternoon concert was usually in a neighborhood park. (Outdoor performances were awesome!)
