Foreclosures was stifled the economy. It has nearly drown Mickey Haller’s law practice.

Do, following the money, Haller has branched out his law firm and is now ‘specializing’ in foreclosure law. Because of that, his firm is staying afloat. It is high tide enough for Haller to hire an associate attorney and rent real office space.

A former foreclosure client, Lisa Trammel, brings Haller back to criminal law: Trammel is arrest for murder.

Lisa Trammel had become an activist in the anti-bank foreclosure world. She has had a restraining order placed on her by her bank. She, along with many of her activist accomplices, picketing in front of her bank.

Suddenly, the Head Supervision Loan Officer of the bank is murdered. Lisa has been identified as being in the area around the time of the murder.
