Mickey Haller, the Lincoln Lawyer, is suddenly asked ‘to change sides’ in the courtroom. Instead of being the defense attorney, the L.A. Prosecutor’s Office has asked Haller to become Special Counsel and work for them.
Haller agrees to the new position, but he is vehement that as a Special Counsel, he does NOT work for the LA Prosecutor’s Office. He will agree to accept the position on the condition that is former first wife is allowed to be his second chair in the proceedings.
Haller was appointed to defend a child murderer who has had his former conviction thrown out on appeal after over twenty years served. The new DNA testing that was used to convict him was tested and the DNA belongs to someone else.
Haller chooses Harry Bosch to be his investigator for the case.
