The Cove (FBI Thriller #1)
For the month of December I am beginning to read all of the FBI Thrillers from Catherine Coulter in order. I am interested to learn how her writing as changed over the almost 20-year span of FBI Thrillers.
Sally Brainerd is on-the-run. After spending several months imprisoned in an asylum, she escapes to come home seeking assistance and witnesses the murder of her father. This dramatic event (along with the massive amounts of mind-altering drugs given at the asylum) has caused her to develop ‘event’ amnesia.
Sally runs to her aunt’s home in The Cove. The Cove is a picture postcard town known for its World’s Greatest Ice Cream recipe that brings lots of tourists into town.
FBI Special Agent James Quinlan arrives at The Cove shortly after Sally. Suddenly, this small town where ‘nothing’ ever happens is the scene of two murders.
A fun read.
(First thing I noticed- the author sometimes uses somewhat graphic sexual information to describe the characters that really cold have been far more effectively described less graphically.)
Written for The New York Times Best Sellers.
