THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD
Are you a glass-half-full or a glass-half-empty person?
I think I know how I think, but just to be sure, I googled it … and there are quizzes you can take that are supposed to evaluate your inner psyche.
- The PlayBuzz Quiz
- LearnReligions Is You Glass …
- GoToQuiz
- Oprah: Optimism Quiz
- Wonderopolis Quiz
- Learning Mind Quiz
- Quinnipiac Chronicle Quiz
My results:
Two of them I saw as stupid … The questions were invalid for where I am currently in life.
One had an even number of quizzes, I was truly in-the-middle-of-the-road.
The other four did not agree with each other? Two said I was a pessimist; two said I was an optimist.
WOW, Google. Thanks for nothing.
Written for FANDANGO’S ONE-WORD-CHALLENGE: MIDDLE.
The pessimist in me may say my glass is half empty, but the optimist side of me says ‘No problem. I know where you can get it filled!’

While I understand it’s difficult to write a good quiz (I know, I’ve written a few for college), some of these were… wow. Just… wow. The whole point of a quiz like that is to make the questions and answers not point to the obvious results.
Which of these pictures do you prefer? Shows a dreary (subjectively pessimistic) picture and light, airy (subjectively optimistic) picture…
Come on. That’s not even trying.
By the way, I’m also a middle of the road — or as i like to call it “realistic” person.

“Realistic” is just a optimistic word for pessimistic?
