NUDE POTATOES

As I am mastering my new skill-set in the kitchen, I have found I have the need to peel potatoes.

Here are two videos for mastering such an art:

HOW TO PEEL A POTATO?

LIFE HACKS

I will soon be trying these videos out. One of my favorite foods for a sit-down dinner is mashed potatoes. I have learned to make instant mashed potatoes, but I would prefer to learn the skill-set to master excellent homemade taters!

Of course, you are never through learning. Than I would need to master making gravy!

  1. I’ve been peeling spuds since I was big enough to hold a potato and a peeler. My home-made from scratch mashed taters are pretty darn good, in my opinion. Here’s a few tricks I’ve learnt over the years. You can leave the potato whole when you boil it, but cutting it into smaller pieces helps it cook faster and saves effort. Boil the potatoes until they are cooked through, but not mushy. If they get over cooked, your mashed potatoes will be runny, but still delicious. When I’m, getting fancy, I get some half and half and add a small amount of that to the hot potatoes, along with butter (not margarine) and salt to taste. Mash and enjoy! Milk works too for the liquid, but again be judicious in the amount you use, too much and runny potatoes. 😦

I'd love to hear from you. It's nice to know other people are out there.
