THE SENTENCE IS DEATH

ANTHONY HOROWITZ

A very enjoyable read.

Once you get started, you won’t want to put it down.

Private Investigator Daniel Hawthorne, and his sidekick (Anthony) are called upon to investigate the death of the extremely successful divorce attorney, Richard Bryce.

Mr. Bryce was found bludgeoned to death- the murder weapon, a 1982 Chateau Lafite worth £3,000.

Bryce had once said that every time he closed a case he created a new enemy, so there were many suspects from which Private Investigator Daniel Hawthorne could choose.

There were three clues to assist in the investigation, although all three might be red herrings:

  • Mr. Bryce was murdered with a bottle of wine, but Mr. Bryce did not drink.
  • There were a series of numerals painted on the wall I the room where Mr. Bryce was murdered.
  • “You shouldn’t be here. It’s too late . . . ” were the last recorded words on a phone call received apparently just before Mr. Bryce was murdered.

I don’t think I have read any other Anthony Horowitz’s books, but now I plan to do so!
