IT JUST AIN’T NATURAL
I am learning a few new recipes with a class I have been taking: Mediterranean Cooking.
The teacher is great. I love her.
The cooking lessons are well done. I understand everything that we try in the kitchen. I even think that I could do those same things at home.
The problem… It’s me.
The foods taste good. They may even taste great as soon as I can get over a few basic personal idiosyncrasies.
- Vegetarian spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs without meat?
- Using grape leaves as wraps for a snack…
- From what tree does hummus originate?
Just the words lentils and legumes throw me. Why can’t you call them beans? That’s not nearly as scary!
- Yes, I know that hummus is made from a bean… Doesn’t make the sound of it less frightening.
Aren’t you glad you don’t have me as a student in your class to try new foods!
And don’t get me started about how I feel about a vegetarian tofu turkey…
