When I first began thinking of retirement, I was ecstatic over of the amount of unstructured time I would have to passionately devote to my numerous hobbies instead of my 9-5 career (which was really 6-6 or longer, except on weekends.)
Now that I am living the dream, where has all this time gone?
- I now cook my own meals- gratifyingly tantalizing, but time-consuming.
- I have more chores- I am home longer, so it seems that house produces messes all by itself?
- I love my piano lessons- but now I seem to practice three times as much. Enjoyable, but it takes away from my other passions.
- I notice the bad weather- It rains ALL THE TIME. It might have rained all the time when I was at work, but it didn’t matter, I had no plans to be outside!
Yes, I even seem to whine more… But a true friend would not notice!
Written for FANDANGO’S ONE WORD CHALLENGE: LIMIT. I have been having problems finding something of meaning to create an answer for the prompts this year. So I decided to strengthen and tighten my focus. My chosen topics are as follows: (Monday) Life in Retirement; (Tuesday) Hobbies: Archaeology and Astronomy; (Wednesday) Fitness; (Thursday) Chores; (Friday) Writing; (Saturday) Hobbies: Music and Photography; and (Sunday) Hobbies: Gardening and Birdwatching.
