I Wonder

I have set a goal of creating a blog entry for every day of the week.

I have accomplished that.

I have set a goal creating two blog entries a week. One The Daily Post and one a writing challenge.

I have done that.

I have set of goal of creating a blog entry for an entire month.

I have done that.

I have never set a goal at writing for extended periods of time. That type of goal has always frightened me. I am not sure why? I’m not sure I know how to create a storyline that I like ahead-of-time that would last for that long a writing time period.

I hear about people writing for hours on end… not me!

But since I am usually a person who has to begin overcoming obstacles in small increments…

I wonder if my writing block of ‘time’ could be overcome with small goals.

  • Goal #1 – 20 minutes at a time each day for a week.
  • Goal #2 – 40 minutes at a time each day of the week.
  • Goal #3 – ONE HOUR!

If I am successful with this schedule, I would be writing in ONE HOUR increments as of the month of APRIL!

I wonder what that would be like!

Written for The Daily Post: Wonder  I have been having problems finding something of meaning to create an answer for the prompts this year. So I decided to strengthen and tighten my focus. My chosen topics are as follows: (Monday) Life in Retirement; (Tuesday) Hobbies: Archaeology and Astronomy; (Wednesday) Fitness; (Thursday) Chores; (Friday) Writing; (Saturday) Hobbies: Music and Photography; and (Sunday) Hobbies: Gardening and Birdwatching.

  1. what’s your goal concerning writing? that is, the goal that you eventually hope to reach by fulfilling smaller writing goals such as the ones you describe?

just a question that occurred to me as i read about the writing goals you’ve been successful with so far.

    cheers.

I'd love to hear from you. It's nice to know other people are out there.
