The 2018 Flash Fiction for the Purposeful Practitioner is going to begin Wednesday, January 10^th.

This is the Writer’s Community that I have attempted to host- for better or worse- this last year.

I thought that I would give each of my followers a chance to broaden their horizons with a few new writing experiences as well as give you a heads-up on the happenings of this community.

Here are some of the upcoming contests that have caught my attention for this new year.

Listed after them are some weekly writing opportunities for fun and fellowship with other writers.

Flash Fiction or Short, Short Story Writing Contests

These contests offer some-sort-of financial reward or publication. There is NO ENTRY FEE for any of these contests! 

Ad Hoc Fiction    

• This is a 150 word weekly contest.
• This contest gives you a one word prompt.

Didcot Writers

• This is a monthly 500 word contest.
• This contests gives you a one word prompt.

The First Line

• This is a quarterly 300-5000 flash/ short story contest.
• This contest gives you a beginning sentence.

The Last Line

• This is a once a year contest.
• The story should be between 300 and 5,000 words.
• This contest gives you a short stories ending sentence.

MICROCOSMS

• This is a weekly 300 word flash fiction contest.

• You are given a different theme to write about on a monthly basis.
