“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Natron.” The receptionist winked as she quietly closed the office door.

Dr. Kilgore was on his feet to greet them. “Come in. Have a seat.” He immediately handed them each a small, chilled bottle of water.

“We came as soon as you called. Is everything OK?” They had asked the question simultaneously.

“Of course. Everything is wonderful. In fact, it is more wonderful than we had even envisioned.”

A puzzled looked crossed the couple’s fa ces.

“Oh,” the doctor immediately raised his hand to interrupt their poised question.

“They are all doing fine. All four of them.”

I would like to give a hearty welcome to all flash fiction aficionados. Welcome to the new Flash Fiction for the Purposeful Practitioner Home Site.

It is the desire of this challenge to allow writers the opportunity to clear the cobwebs from a more tedious and involved project. Becoming a part of a new and growing writer’s community might be just what the doctor ordered to rejuvenate your writing juices.
