NAPOWRIMO- 2017: #8

National Poetry Writing Month- 2017

REQUIREMENTS: We were asked to write a poem using repetition.

The Drunkard’s Serenade

Toasting with smiling and waving, back-slapping

The drunkard’s serenade.

Light –jousting, toe-tapping, carousing and clapping

The drunkard’s serenade

Then turning and popping and spinning and flopping

The drunkard’s serenade

Escorted, man-handed, removed, forced-flight

The drunkard’s serenade

Restless sleep, pounding head, No memory of night

The drunkard’s serenade

Note: This was not an autobiographical experience!

Written for The National Poetry Writing Month- 2017.
