If “Massive” Means “Never-Ending”?

What an appropriate word for what is facing me on a Thursday!

Thursdays are my complete-your-ugly-chore-list-day so that I can have the weekend for the things that I like to do.

Each room needs to be somewhat presentable by bedtime on Thursdays.

If this happens, I find myself having the time-of-my-life on most weekends.

Sure… There are still things that have to happen to maintain a balance in life. Places I have to go that just aren’t open for after-school visits or things that are just too time-involved to complete on a task-filled evening’s schedule.

But, if on Thursday evening, I am happy with my home-upkeep… there are so many other options that I can allow for an action-packed Saturday and Sunday.

No Chore Weekends

  • So much more time for writing without guilt
  • A day-cation to a local historical site
  • A 5K walk on a untested mountain trail
  • An entire evening for a meal and a movie
  • A foursome game-night of Phase 10 or Risk
  • A night at the theater for a play
  • Two free days to play in the garden

One would think that since I enjoy my free weekends to-the-hilt that it would be easy to coerce myself into completing my need-to-do chores.

But some people are sooooo stubborn!

Written for The Daily Post: Massive. I have been having problems finding something of meaning to create an answer for the prompts this year. So I decided to strengthen and tighten my focus. My topics for the month of March are as follows:  (Monday) Teaching and Life; (Tuesday) Hobbies: Archaeology and Astronomy; (Wednesday) Fitness; (Thursday) Chores; (Friday) Writing; (Saturday) Hobbies: Music and Photography; and (Sunday) Hobbies: Gardening and Birdwatching.

  1. LOL! I have 3, 8×10 canvas’s, and one 8×14 canvas just sitting at home waiting to be used. This looks like a good day to pull out the paints. Already have leftover veggie chowder from last night for dinner tonight, the house is clean beyond clean, and it’s too cold to go out to play. And with freezing rain coming in sometime overnight and during morning commute tomorrow, I’m going to need all the ‘chill-out’ time I can find today.

      1. I learned to clean house Amish style… that is, remove everything and clean from the ceiling down, then replace everything. Takes me a whole day to do one room.

I'd love to hear from you. It's nice to know other people are out there.
