Nuances: Riddle Me This

Riddle me this… When is a chore not a chore?

When there is pleasure and enjoyment felt while executing the task at hand.

There is such a fine line that can infiltrate and undermine the successful completion of the necessary tasks of life.

The nuances between…

  • “I need to do this task.”
  • “I want to do this task.”
  • “I will enjoy doing this task.”
  • “You can’t make me do this task. I am sixty years old and I can blame well do what I want.”

I had an established patterned for my chore list- to set aside one room for cleaning each day. This was not getting done because I just did not find enough reward in the completion of the task.

Now, I complete 40+ chores each evening.

On days when I am not in school, I need a 40+ chore completion for the morning and the evening. If I desire, I can do them at the same time and have the remainder of the day off. This has worked well- so far.
