Life’s Many Patterns

Life’s Many Patterns

Just as all types of music- no matter the genre- has a defined beat, I belief that life should mimic this standard.

I have struggled and struggled this new year to set aside time for writing. There have been family matters and work issues, and health complications, and (I could go on forever, it seems.).  Everything wants to take a bite out of my time.

If pursuing the life of a writer (whatever that will be for me) is something that I deeply desire, I have to establish a routine to accomplish the simple task of finding the time to sit in front of my computer and then have something to say.

With that I mind, I have decided to create a writing routine of topics to use with The Daily Post prompts.. When I sit myself down, I will have a much narrowed field of thought from which to pull ideas.

Today, is the first day of the pattern. I am planning to work backwards today and fill in the days that I have missed from the month of March. (I am a little OCD in liking to have definite beginnings and endings to things.)

Written for The Daily Post: March 11, 2017. Pattern. I have been having problems finding something of meaning to create an answer for the prompts this year. So I decided to strengthen and tighten my focus. My topics for the month of March are as follows:  (Monday) Teaching and Life; (Tuesday) Hobbies: Archaeology and Astronomy; (Wednesday) Fitness; (Thursday) Chores; (Friday) Writing; (Saturday) Hobbies: Music and Photography; and (Sunday) Hobbies: Gardening and Birdwatching.

  1. The prompt words the past few weeks have been very unusual, in my estimation. But, sometimes the harder words create the most interesting responses. Good luck in the task you’ve set for yourself, Roger.
