Share Your World- 2016

Week 42

  • If you wanted to de-clutter where you live, what room / space would you start with?  (And why, if you’re feel like admitting to it.)
  • If you want to remember something important, how do you do it (sticky note on the fridge, string around your finger, etc.), and does it work?
  • If you could create a one room retreat just for yourself, what would be the most important sense to emphasize:  sight (bright natural light, dim light, etc.), hearing (silence, music, fountain, etc.), smell (candles, incense, etc), touch (wood, stone, soft fabrics, etc.), or taste (herbal tea, fresh fruit, etc.)?
  • If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

If you wanted to de-clutter where you live, what room / space would you start with?  (And why, if you’re feel like admitting to it.)

I am at the declutter stage of housekeeping…. Sorting through sets of 40 things each day to decide if each item is a to keep, to barter, or to toss. I am not sure how one house can be so full of ‘things’ that are only for one person!

If you want to remember something important, how do you do it (sticky note on the fridge, string around your finger, etc.), and does it work?

My new chore system is an app I found online. It allows me to place as many things on the calendar each day and then to hourly- or even minutely (?)- check them off. If there is something important for me to do each day, it had better be on the app… or it won’t get done. As of right now, my new system works!

If you could create a one room retreat just for yourself, what would be the most important sense to emphasize:  sight (bright natural light, dim light, etc.), hearing (silence, music, fountain, etc.), smell (candles, incense, etc), touch (wood, stone, soft fabrics, etc.), or taste (herbal tea, fresh fruit, etc.)?

A one room retreat? It would have to include a writing center with my computer on a bar/ desk that extends across a plush, comfortable recliner… A mini-refrigerator and a small set of shelves for snacks… A billiards set and dart boards for extended thinking breaks…A huge bay window overlooking the mountains with a babbling brook nearby… The smell of pine and honeysuckle would fill the room anytime someone would open the outer doors… Of course, there would have to be a fireplace nearby to complete the ambiance. On the days that writing was a puzzle- naps would be great!

If you could interview one of your great-great-great grandparents, who would it be (if you know their name) and what would you ask?

Wow! Would this be something that I would love to do! If I could just step back into time and interview (at length) even my grandparents… that would be wonderful. But to be able to interview my great-grandparents, or great-great- and beyond. I love history. Incredibly awesome!

Questions… They would be lifestyle questions. What you did with your days? Why did you make the moves in location that happened? What were your passions? What were the surrounding lands like while you were loving there?

Actually, I just want to know “who” they were… What made them tick?
