This challenge is open until 11:00 pm Friday night, June 3rd, 2016.

Click on the Blue Frog to share.

The Six Easy Guidelines

  • A photo prompt and an introductory sentence/ topic is to be used as your ‘muse’. They will arrive promptly at midnight each Friday morning.
  • Include the photo prompt and its credits with your story on your blog. Use of the introductory sentence/ topic is optional. Some followers like the introductory sentence ideas.
  • All stories are to be crafted and honed to under 200 words in length.
  • Each flash fiction piece should have a clear beginning, middle, and end. No serial stories. It is harder to stay abreast of a serial story. (Please keep content PG-13.)
  • Post your flash fiction response by clicking on THE BLUE FROG. Follow the given directions.
  • It is the desire of this blog to begin a new writing community. Plan a day to visit the writings of our challengers to enjoy our creations and to provide a little positive feedback.

Thank you for your participation. I look forward to reading each of your stories. Please remember to check back and follow the journeys of our fellow writers. Kind comments are always appreciated.

What is your favorite go to beverage?  Water, coffee, tea, coke, soda (non-alcoholic)

Hands down… Mountain Dew- Original!

Can you change a car tire?

Yes, But I would hate to have to find the new places that automotive companies hide their tools!

Are you a listener or talker?

That depends…. I can definitely be a talker… But I like to think that I know how to listen as well?

Would you rather have no internet or no cell phone?

Another hands down question… I could live without a cell phone. Please don’t make me live without internet.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016

WEEK #20

  • When do you feel most connected with others?
  • What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?
  • What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?
  • List at least two things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?

When do you feel most connected with others?

I am most connected with others when we have time one-on-one for late night shares- this could be about a book we have both just completed, a movie we have watched, an adventure we have just returned home from experiencing, or just shooting-the-breeze over a lantern or a campfire.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

I would love to set aside time to do some form of exercise each day. I have set aside times for exercise on my beloved life-scheduler for three days a week, but often those times are eaten up by another obligation.

What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?

One mini-adventure that I would love to complete would be to go to neighboring counties’ greenhouses and search for irises. They are my new passion for the gardens this year.

List at least two things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?

This one is a great question… but I will twist it into a question that I prefer over the ‘airwaves’ of the blogosphere…

What are three events that are likely (or unlikely) to happen soon that would change your life?

… Winning $1,000,000 could change my life

… Choosing to retire this year in order to write could change my life

I don’t think either of these are going to happen this month!

You win a pet monkey but this isn’t just any old monkey. It can do one trick for you whenever you want from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair. What would be the trick?

If this monkey could be tricked into enjoying chores!!!!! What a great monkey to own!

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today?

Today, I am catching up with the Share Your World topic blogs. It has been fun to begin to blog again!

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

Blues and maroons …. They are the school colors for the schools that I attended as a kid and for college. I am not sure if that is the reason? But it is a truth???

Actually, I love blue jeans… and any color- bold or tame- polo shirt is fine by me. I enjoy college team and professional sports teams polos!

Complete this sentence:  When I travel I love to….

When I travel I love to have air conditioning and a comfortable bed- wiht extra pillows- for the night!!!

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016

WEEK #18

  • Who was your best friend in elementary school?
  • What things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?
  • If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?
  • Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer?

Who was your best friend in elementary school?

My best friend from grade school was a kid named Robert. I was in first grade with him. His parents got a divorce while we were in first grade. Robert and his father moved to England. (I believed- as a first grader- that if your parents got divorced, one of your parents had to leave the country…)  I don’t think that I had a best friend again until I was in high school. I had ‘groups’ for friends- but no best friend.

What things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?

On really bad days, having a meal prepared- ready to eat… that is awesome!!!

If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?

“Stop seeing the world so black and white…. LISTEN…. Actually listen to the other side of things.”

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer?

Dancing has never been my thing… however, if I could become a dancer and that could assist me in losing weight and maintaining the weight loss… That would be cool?

I would rather be an amazing singer!

Mischievous Counter-Measures

“Ha…chitter…chitter…ah.” A rhythmic, guttural chuckle arose from his innards. “You won’t stop me that easily.”

The robust squirrel flicked his tail and gazed at the new structure. “Upping his game once more.”

At first, seeds were fair game. “Dinner was served” in a beautifully-embossed emerald bowl.

Then, the swinging S-hook which lowered the mouthwatering delectables into a floating globe.

Ineffective. All one had to do was gently align and spring-down to the seed-filled sphere.

Today, a double-hooded monstrosity had arisen from the ground. Lunch was centered in the luscious tulip gardens.

He smirked. “Maybe it’s time for a change?”

Written for Carrot Ranch Publications: Requirements: May 18, 2016 prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story that features a squirrel. It can be about a squirrel, for a squirrel or by a squirrel. Think nutty, naturalistic, dinner or ironic. Go where the prompt leads and don’t forget to twirl with imagination.

SHARE YOUR WORLD – 2016

WEEK #17

  • When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?
  • What’s your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?
  • Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?
  • List five some of your favorite blogs.

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?

I hate pencils! I don’t even have my students write with pencils. Pens are far easier to read!

What’s your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?

When I was a kid, living at home with my parents and sisters, we would always have a jigsaw on the table. Mazes, for me, seem far too arbitrary to be fun. I do love to work on a great Sudoku booklet every now and again.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

SHORT! SHORT! SHORT! At least, on me.

List five some of your favorite blogs.

I have no favorites… There are bloggers in the netherworld that I respect more than others. But that would be telling tales out of school! You can check out the blogs I follow- each has a ‘specialness’ in its own way.
