AIR HOCKEY: Sports for the over 50+ Crowd

The 2016 A-Z Blogging Challenge

My challenge for this year… I am planning to complete the A-Z Challenge this year by sharing an activity in which I still enjoy competing.

 

The Sport: AIR HOCKEY (This is an inside sport.)

The Season: An All- Season Sport

The Thrill: Thrill One-Even though I am getting on up there in years… my arms are still a major plus in this sport. Having need of 37” sleeves for a dress shirts allows for much freedom on an air hockey court that is only seven feet in length. I can reach a ways! Plus, I have no fear for reprisals until I know that I can be beaten twice in a row. (I am a rather reckless player?) Thrill Two- the sound of the thunder as the paddle and puck collide.

Full Disclosure: Proprietors have had to remind our group (me) that air hockey is not a full contact sport?

    now there is a true hockey fan … where the energy of the game spills over into air hockey!

    Personally I’ve never played air hockey …. I remember playing “ball hockey” (street) and inside, “table hockey” – with all the bars and plastic players that we’d have to spin and move, grabbing and clutching at handles in this crazy way ….
