The King and I… March 29th

The King and I opened on Broadway on March 29, 1951. I have never seen the stage show but the television version of this musical captured my heart!

I think that I became a lover of the cultures of different worlds after first watching this movie. I was probably seven and had already decided I wanted to be a teacher. I had never thought of teachers in other countries. I had never seen so many children in ‘one family’. I was entranced by the movie sets and the costumes. Life was not the same after that. I was a lover of history and archaeology from them on!

The above clip is The March of the Siamese Children. I hope you have enjoyed the memories. Watch the entire movie. It will not be a waste of your time!
