Becoming a Man Who Counts

Becoming a Man Who Counts

“5,467… 5,468… 5,469… 5,470… 5,471…”

“Elijah, what are you doing? “

“What do you think?”

“Annoying me to death on your class’s fieldtrip?”

“Dad told me to.”

“Dad told you to do what?”

“Dad was really mad last night.”

“Dad was, sweetie. You and Stevie broke the remote playing football last night. Our new digital doesn’t work without a remote.”

“He almost didn’t let me come on this trip.”

“I know, dear… but you guys fixed things. Didn’t you?”

“That’s what I’m doing, now. Dad said I had to become a man who could be counted on… So I’m learning!”
