I knew my persistence would be rewarded. Bound to be false leads and rabbit trails when you chase down a legend.
“Mr. Ainsworth, I’m so glad you could make time to see me.”
“You found the place?”
“Easily. Third unmade road after the Yorkshire roundabout.”
“Your solicitor was evasive on the mobile.”
“Negotiations were to be mine.”
“There she be… original windscreen, bonnet, wings, wing mirrors, silencer… just as she was recovered.”
“The papers check out?”
“He handed me the paperwork, I handed him three pre-signed travelers cheques.”
We shook.
Now, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang…- my childhood dream car- was entirely mine!

I always thought that would an exciting car to have. Imagine all the traffic you will miss out on! Ha! Ha. I think I could handle that! 😁. Great take on this prompt.
