“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Pope Francis said. “This is not in the Gospel.”
I do not think that I have ever, purposeful, written a post on my blog that would elicit trolling. And I hope that each of my readers will allow me to error vent this one time.
I am a avid fan of fisticuffs in the political areas. I adore the debates- at least debates that allow political opponents the freedom to speak on their own personal agendas for an office being sought… And then their rivals being allowed the time to counterpunch.
I do not love the media picking sides- in either the left or the right. Nor do I admire the use of smear-combat.
I like a reporter who asks precise and potent questions, so that we- the people- can have the most opportune chance to choose the players for an upcoming election.
But irony forces my hand.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures from above… These are from a man you does not believe in walls.
“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Pope Francis said. “This is not in the Gospel.”
I would write more… But I will let the irony of the situation speak for itself. (For those of you who do not recognize the features in the slides above… This is Vatican City- The Home of Pope Fancis.
One further note: Vatican City is protected at its gates by 110 Swiss Militia- each armed and trained as bodyguards.
There is also a protective group for Vatican City called The Vatican Gendarmerie. This is the Military/ Police presence in his city for security, public order, and border patrol. To be in this protective force, one has to be male, unmarried, between the ages of 21 and 24, and of a particular religious group- Catholic. Not a great deal of diversity allowed in this city/state/ country.
Written for The Purposes of Venting…
Wow. That’s very ironic.

Thank you for this. I shared it on Facebook. I have been wondering for several weeks if the Vatican would open its heart to those fleeing Islam and if such refugees could become citizens. Very doubtful according to this source:http://blogs.loc.gov/law/2012/07/the-current-legislation-on-citizenship-in-the-vatican-city-state/

I understand the complexity of many situations… making bold statements that are hypocritical does not help anyone to find solutions.

Good point…the Vatican library is also under lock and key – keeping academia out and filtering what the public may know. Extra ironic because Vatican City, as the heart of Christianity, should represent goodwill in humankind.
