LOST
“Robbie, we are completely lost. Quit pretending you know where you’re going.”
“They have to be just around the corner. Don’t worry. We’ll be back with Mom and Dad. Just a few more steps.”
“You said that the last set of stairs. And aren’t we supposed to be going toward the top of the hill to the displays?”
“Shh…. I can hear the voices from the group.”
Suddenly, around the next bend, there was only darkness.
“Robbie…” Margie’s whisper was now quaking. “I don’t think those men in black holding that animal over the fire are part of our group…”
Written for Friday Fictioneers. Requirements: Using the photo prompt, create a 100 word flash fiction story.
I like writing and reading Fash Fiction especially using a photo for the prompt, 100 words that’s very short.
Enjoyed your story, but would have like a little more, wondering what happened after seeing those men holding that animal over the fire.

I was glad I could stop there… Let the imagination take over. Too much gruesomeness… I leave that to Stephen King?

Oops, wrong turn. Time to turn around and casually wander back the way they’ve come. If they can, of course…

I think the fact that they wore goat head masks could be a second indication they should turn around….

Yes, I’d say they are lost and better backtrack. Kids love to explore and often times get in trouble. Parents think babies are a lot of worry sometimes, but when they grow up enough to get out of their sight, the problems really began. Nice job on this prompt.

I’m going to pretend it was a barbecue. This was creepy scary and no place for kids. I hope they get away, quick. —- Suzanne
