HEADS, YOU LIVE. TAILS …
She lived a life that some would describe as being on edge. Some called her Hero. Others called her Vigilante. She called herself Necessary.
She had a badge. She played by the rules. She was an integral part of common society. She even had numerous accommodations from the Neighbor Watch groups and her local and state precincts for being on the up-and-up.
But there were times justice just wasn’t served.
The scum found a wise-guy attorney who found an absurd loophole.
The scum walked.
She wasn’t good at second chances. That’s why she kept the coin.
Donning her black attire- complete with mask, she carefully planned her own personal stakeout.
… Usually right after the celebratory freedom party…
…Then line’em up at the wall.
The coin decided if the scum deserved a second chance. After all, she was not a judge and an executioner.
Heads, You live. Tails….
San Franciscans never realized how grateful they should be for these brief goodbyes.
Written for Monday’s Finish That Story. Requirements: Using the photo prompt… Your challenge is to finish the story using 100-150 words, not including the sentence provided. Don’t forget to use the opening sentence…She lived a life that some would describe as being on edge.

At least she waited until after the party. I wonder how it all started. Well done, Roger. —- Suzanne

Great story! Very “Two Face” from Batman. That’s as good a way as any to decide the fate of scum 🙂

Someone said it’s batman-esque and that’s what I thought. Necessary – yes neat way for her to absolve conscience…
