THE MANGO TREE
(PART II)
She lived in a Mango tree.
A small town… there was much gossip. Especially when the crew came to begin constructing the treehouse in the middle of the parking lot.
That gossip was nothing.
The talk went hog wild when it was discovered that the house in the tree was going to be a true house!
County inspectors immediately showed up; this had to be against some town ordinance.
But since no one had ever thought of committing to such an atrocity… there were no ordinances in place to stop the construction.
It helped that Sarah, the proud owner of parking lot and soon-to-be tree home, was fresh out of law school; she was not to be easily trampled.
Soon, talk died down and the treehouse became a fixture in the community.
That was until the rumors started that Sarah wanted to build on an addition to her house… a three car garage complete with helipad.
Written for Monday’s Finish That Story: Using the photo prompt and the opening sentence, complete a flash story of 150 words. This one is PART II!
Ah, laws can be so helpfully specific sometimes. I’m not sure she’ll get away with her extension though!

She might be pushing the limits?

I think a helipad would push the limits a little, she seems to have done well in finding a position with a lawfirm paying green.

Well, they say history repeats itself so I feel she will get away with constructing 3 car garage and helipad! Trouble is, I don’t think it is advisable to build these in a tree! LOL!

It was just in my nature to cause the tree-hugger/ I mean liver/ to push the limits. I suspect a tree-hugger would not even think of building in a tree.

I love it…but I’d like an elevator also, please, since we’re doing improvements (?) anyway. http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/09/27/the-year-i-gave-up-childish-things/
