What is your favorite month of the year?

I do not have a special month. I truly enjoy all of them for their own uniqueness.

January/ February: The snows. The shutting down of civilization as we know it and living a life- if only for a few hours, please- because of 14 to 20 inches of snow. Living life with an oil lamp, a wood stove, and refreshing cleansing of air that only snows can bring.

March/ April: Preparing for the rebirth of life. Preparing the soils for the introduction of new plantings. Life with the greenhouse to attempt a new set of seedlings for my year. Enjoying the reappearance of birds that had moved on from the winter months. MARCH MADNESS! (For those that do not know… These are the NCAA basketball tournament games.)

May/ June: Mowing the lawn. Croquet and horseshoe tournaments. The arrival of baseball season. Friends visits with vacations. Drives along the Skyline and mountaintop views.

July/ August; Fireworks. Long evenings outdoors enjoying hikes and campfires and walks top local waterfalls. Gorgeous times of sunsets. Blankets, snacks, and red flashlights for long evening enjoying the Perseids Meteor Showers.

September/ October: The turning of the leaves. Fall classes for personal growth at the college. Fall festivals and reunions are mandatory visits. Evening with the binoculars and telescope for viewing the moon and stars. Some great views of Mercury. Football season. Hope springs eternal that the Titians made the right quarterback choice.

November/ December:  Family and friends gathered for holiday celebrations. For those young-at-heart and can maintain warmth the Geminids are a sight to behold. Musical performances and concerts can dot the calendar. NCAA Basketball season brings rejuvenation to the coach-leaning sports enthusiasts.

Each months contains things that I love to do and are special to my heart.

Do you drink coffee at all?

Coffee is now my beverage of choice. On a winter evening, for a social gathering, it can be a casual indulgence. But for me. Mountain Dew is the way to go.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

My last two years of high school, and the first three years of college, found be a lawn-care entrepreneur. Between myself- and two friends- we had the upkeep of 17 houses and complexes to manicure each and every week. I loved the outdoors. I loved the exercise. I loved the free tan that working without your shout allowed. It was a great job! (Except when the rains forced you behind schedules and then you had to mow 16 to 16 day shifts… Then, not so fun.)

I have not played videos games since the classics.
