“Once upon a time in a land far, far away.”

“You’ve told that one already, Daddy.”

“This is a different one, dear.”

“Does it have a beautiful princess in it?”

“Does she live in a magnificent castle high up on a hill?”

“Does an evil dragon swoop down from the skies and steal her and take her far away to hide her in his stinky lair?”

“Does the handsome prince ride in and save her?”

“Is the dragon killed?”

“He could be.”

“Does the father let them get married and they live happily ever after?”

“If the princess want him to.”

“Tell me that one, Daddy.”

Written for Monday’s Finish That Story. Requirements: Using the photo prompt and the provided first sentence, tell a story of only 100-150 words.

      1. True. I think it was Nigel Kneale who said there are only four sci-fi stories.

        1. We go to them

        2. They Come to us

        3. They’ve always been here

        4. Mad (or misguided) Scientist
