You have done well, my son.

The dragon has been slain, therefore I know my daughter is protected from outside dangers.

In three days, you have turned 1000 coins into the magnificent total of 10,000. How, I am not even going to ask. My designee has said that you accomplished the task lawfully.

Your final quest: My eldest must not be the task-master of her home for idle chores. Change the lights in all ten chandeliers for the evening’s festivities, thus bringing about a proper elegance to the room.

 No ladder may be used.

Then, my daughter’s hand is yours.

  1. A young man has been set endless impossible tasks just to impress a father? As a youth I would have seen this has unreasonable – as a father of a young daughter, I now see the appeal.
    Nice work.

  2. Something tells me the tasks are going to continue even after they’re married. She might even be like her father so they’ll be doubled. He may need to find a lot of reasons to go on future quests. Good and humorous story, Roger. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

I'd love to hear from you. It's nice to know other people are out there.
