Do Not Disturb
How do you manage your online privacy? Are there certain things you won’t post in certain places? Information you’ll never share online? Or do you assume information about you is accessible anyway?
I enjoy writing flash fiction. I write most of my flash fiction to be enjoyed by myself, my on-line followers, and my classroom full of junior-high students. There are –of course- topics that would definitely be inappropriate for compositions. I do not feel any incredible urge to engage in those topics, so I do not think that my writing freedoms are unduly infringed upon.
Privacy… Does it even exist in today’s world? I try to be circumspect with what is assumed to be a private life on-line. I attempt to share enough with personal information with my on-line followers that they can begin to have a sense of me as a human being – as the architect of this blog. I try not to reveal stories that would embarrass a fellow world-traveler.
Information I would never share on-line. Hopefully, I am prudent about the sites that I share my financial and logistical personal information… However, I am astute enough to know that in today’s world…. an inquisitive electronic analyst (a hacker) can infiltrate virtually any computer system with which they choose to engage. I just hope that I am not that interesting.
