Sweet, Sweet Sarah

“Rrrrrrrrrrrr.” It was that awful monstrosity Sarah had gleefully purchased.

“The first change in my new life.” I swatted it into silence.

I quickly dressed for morning rounds. “Nothing could look different today.”

Locking the backdoor, I rushed to the car. “I can grab a muffin and juice at the café on the way.”

Parking in my designated place, I strode across the walkway to the café. “All is well.”

“Morning, Doctor.”

“How are the newlyweds?”

“Never better.”

Reaching back I found an empty pocket. “I’m going to have to visit our lovely secluded spot, one last time.”

Written for Friday Fictioneers. Requirements: Photo Prompt and 100 words.

  1. Hmm, I’m trying to connect the dots, monstrosity, newlywed, empty pockets, and secluded place. I think her new husband is deader than a doornail and the monstosity is a tiger that ate the husand. Am I close??
