On Becoming a More ‘Civil’ Society


A truth at every centennial assembly: hidden political agendas were crudely revealed and the hideous atrocities of a few were symbolically reprimanded. Then the same debate: Hope of Salvation. Some advocated ‘coming clean’ in a shared world. Depth of tradition and the yearnings of the hunt drove the opposition. This year’s possible solution: a joke. Guava Cocktails, no matter their intensity, would never replace blood lust.
