What if you had the power to rewrite history? You do.
The power to re-write history… What an awesome power!
If it were true. What a burdensome responsibility!
I asked my students I teach what “re-writing of history” they would do… answers were very “world view”
- Stop Hitler.
- Save the president.
- Stop original sin.
My answer is much more simplistic… and maybe even selfish.
I would want more time as a youth with Mom and Dad.
From Mom, I would want to spend more time in the kitchen. I would want to carefully write down every recipe that was a favorite. If this would have been true, I could now reproduce the smells and foods and memories a little more clearly. (I almost have deviled eggs mastered!)
From Dad, I would want to find more time to spend in the machine shop. Find more time to see him wood-working. Those are skills that I do not possess, I trust others with maintenance.
Time: The unknown factor. You never have enough of it. Spend it wisely.
